Pet Food Pantry

We at Noah's Ark have started an animal mission we like to call the Pet Food Pantry. Over the past couple of months, we have been seeking donors and private donations for a pet food pantry which will deliver on a month to month basis, pet food for citizens that are shut-ins, terminally ill or low income. In many cases, these citizens have a tough time making ends meet financially. They have very little money to feed themselves and purchase their medications much less purchase pet food. Often times, it has been told that citizens on meals for wheels programs will share their warm meals with their pet companions because they have no pet food to feed them.

We are currently putting together a list of names of citizens that are known to have pet companions are in need of assistance. It is our hope that by assisting those in need of this service, they will be able to keep their pet companion and thereby benefit their own health and security. Studies have proven that patients with illnesses or citizens that live alone and suffer from depression benefit greatly when they have a pet companion. Hopefully, in the long run, this may help alleviate some of the burden of the animal shelters by finding homes for pets when prospective animal lovers realize that there is a resource to help them financially with the care of a pet.

If you know of someone that would benefit from this program, please contact us at Noah's Ark with their name and address. If you would like to make a donation of pet food, we accept bagged or canned cat or dog food. Just give us a call at 912-354-7398 and we will arrange a convenient time to pick up your donation.

Robin, John and their children are members of Savannah Christian Church and are active in the Coastal Georgia Walk to Emmaus group.
